Weymouth and Portland’s beloved radio station, AIR 107.2, has been dramatically saved from closure — and it’s back with a bang!
Now broadcasting from a cutting-edge studio inside the multi-million-pound Black Barge Development in Castletown, Portland, the station has secured a permanent home, and a vibrant new future.
With fresh momentum and renewed purpose, AIR 107.2 is set to continue its mission: championing local news, showcasing homegrown talent, and amplifying the voices that make Weymouth and Portland shine.
Launched in 2011 as a small student project at Westfield Arts College, AIR 107.2 has grown into a powerhouse of local broadcasting, reaching audiences across West Dorset and beyond.
Its dynamic programming line-up includes a popular Morning Show with Sharon Stone, a lively weekday lunch slot with Ella, Richie T’s chilled Vinyl Revival show, on-the-ground reports from roving reporter Emma Maguire, and in-depth sports coverage from veteran broadcaster Craig Andrews.
Celebrating the relaunch, AIR 107.2 Director Sharon Stone said:
