In a spirited effort to preserve a vital piece of Weymouth & Portland’s community fabric, Air 107.2 FM is calling on local residents and businesses to help save the station from imminent closure. The beloved community radio station, operated entirely by dedicated volunteers, is facing a financial crisis with rising operational costs threatening to silence its broadcasts.

Since announcing this on their Facebook page, Air FM have setup a GoFundMe page, where you can donate towards your community radio station:

A Community Staple at Risk

Air 107.2 FM has been a cornerstone of the Weymouth & Portland community, providing a platform for local voices, music, news, and events since 2012. The station plays a critical role in keeping residents informed and entertained, fostering a sense of unity and pride among listeners.

However, to continue its operations, Air 107.2 FM must urgently raise £12,000. This funding is needed to cover essential expenses such as transmitter fees, studio upgrades, and licenses necessary to remain on FM. Without these funds, the station will be forced to cease operations, leaving a significant void in the community.
