A shocking incident that unfolded near Tesco’s on Dorchester Road Broadway on Friday afternoon, a 36 year old man was viciously attacked with a hammer by his work colleague, resulting in a depressed fracture to his skull. The horrifying assault took place around 1:30 p.m.

The victim, a 36 years old man Dan , was a fellow employee at Dorset Garden Extensions, a prominent local landscaping company.

The victims partner told our reporter ” So basically my partner works for a firm called Dorset garden extensions. The Boss got a call from the electrician to say there is a guy on the roof that is drunk , so Dan’s boss rang him and said can you go with my brother in the van and get him removed off the job , so they went in the van and Dan got out the van and asked the attacker to come down off the roof , and he’s got to leave they shouted at each other and Dan got back in the van and drove off in hope he was getting his stuff and going home. They then drove back around parked on side of road near Tesco’s too see if he has gone , then out of nowhere The Attacker come to the van and smashed Dan over the head with a hammer , it blacked him out for a few seconds , and he heard shouting you cant get me now and walked off”

The victim was taken to Dorset County Hospital, where after a CT scan it was identified he had suffered a depressed fracture to his skull. He was then taken on blue lights to Southampton hospital which specialises in head injuries.

Eyewitnesses at the scene reported a sudden eruption of violence, leaving bystanders shocked and frightened. The motive behind the attack remains unclear, and Dorset police make an arrest on scene are actively investigating the incident.

The attacker a 46-year-old man from Weymouth who for legal reasons we can’t name, is already on license for a previous violent crime, has been released on bail by Dorset Police.
