Dorset Council has issued Notice under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, of planned repair works to Weymouth Town Bridge, St Thomas Street, Weymouth.

Repair works will start on the 26th of September 2022, the repair works are scheduled to finish on the 30th of November 2022.

The Repair works will enable Dorset Council, to carry out weld repairs to the bridge deck.

The repair works will see the bridge closed to traffic. A daytime-only closure was considered but due to works areas, this would not be a safe option.

Traffic will likely be diverted along either, The Esplanade, King street over the Swannery bridge and along Westwey Road. Or along Custom House Quay, Commercial Road over the Swannery bridge and along Westwey Road.
