New Tesco Store Opens Up in Weymouth

A new Tesco Express branch has opened in Broadwey, Weymouth on Friday 7th April. The store is situated at 680 Dorchester Road and is now open for business. Customers can enjoy a range of services including a Costa Express, bakery and lottery.

The new Tesco Express is a welcome addition to the area, providing a convenient location for locals to shop for groceries and other essentials. The store is well-stocked and offers a wide range of products, making it a one-stop-shop for customers.

The opening of the Tesco Express in Broadwey, Weymouth is a positive development for the community. With its convenient location, range of services and well-stocked shelves, it is sure to be a popular destination for shoppers in the area.

Sue Brinsdon, store manager, said to Dorset Echo: “We are very excited to be opening our new Tesco Express store on Dorchester Road.

“This new store will be offering the local community a broad range of products, from fresh food to food-to-go, and we are looking forward to welcoming our first customers. “

In April 2022, 50 local residents raised concerns over Tesco’s application for an alcohol licence for their new store on the former Mazda Garage site in Dorchester Road, Broadwey.

Despite the objections, Tesco submitted an application stating that they have implemented policies, procedures, systems and training to ensure responsible alcohol sales. Additionally, the store will have CCTV coverage throughout the premises.

Tesco also claims to have a “good neighbour” ethos, with plans to actively participate in the local community.
