Principal Youth Worker Tom Lane from STEPS Youth Club said:

“We’re delighted that the next Nostalgia event will raise funds for STEPS in our 60th Year.  The Charity has run the Club for over seven years after Dorset Council stopped running a Youth Service in 2016.  We have to raise around £90,000 a year to keep the Club going, so we hope everyone who knows the value of our work will come along and support the event – it should be great fun!

“The Club provides a range of developmental opportunities and support for young people as well as much-needed facilities for a range of community groups, including Dorset Abilities Group, Let’s Dance, youth football teams and others.

“We are just launching a two-year Youth Music Project which will include young people learning DJ Skills.  Hopefully, one or two might prove good enough to perform a set at The Pavilion. “I’d like to thank Rich Talmage (‘Richie T’ of Air FM) and the Nostalgia team for choosing to support STEPS and our young people.”

Richard Talmage added:

“Nostalgia is all about supporting the local community, whilst bringing people together to celebrate the 90s dance music scene. Many of whom used to go to STEPS (formerly Weymouth Boys Club) back in the 1990’s

We chose to support STEPS as they are a local registered charity, who do a lot of amazing work with the young people of this town. Not only that, but Nostalgia also provides an opportunity for new up and coming DJs, aswell as those wishing to learn about sound and lighting production.

With qualified engineers on the team, you can be sure that Nostalgia will bring you authentic 90’s analogue sound, lighting and laser production for the event.

Of course, Nostalgia wouldnt be complete without talented vinyl DJs on the line-up – It wouldnt be a true 90’s event if it wasnt all on vinyl! “
